It’s been a while since the last update! We’ve been laying the groundwork that will allow us to realize a couple of long-term features for SeekBeak, so there’s been a lot of behind-the-scenes work going on. If everything has gone well, you won’t notice many changes, but there are a few things you’ll be noticing…
If you’re into anything involving computers, you would have heard about the Meltdown and Spectre issues which basically allow nefarious things to happen to Intel-based computers. Fixing these exploits, unfortunately, causes computers to slow down, which isn’t ideal for anyone.
Well, we don’t like slow things, so we took this opportunity to double the specs of our current systems. Image processing times have dropped dramatically, and general system snappiness has been increased, allowing you to start creating faster! 360 images, virtual tours, and Snaps should all now load much faster.
Files that you attach to your Snaps are now delivered at lightning-fast speeds across a new Content Delivery Network. People will be able to view your attached images and listen to the sweet sounds of your audio files as fast as you can say CDN.
The Need for Speed. Faster Loading Times!
Since we’re on the subject of speed, I’d be remiss not to mention that switching between the areas on the Dashboard, Edit screens, and the User/Team settings area has been sped up as well.
We’ve cut down on page reloads from the server, opting to load up more goodies initially and cut down on the time you’d spend navigating around!
That’s it for now, till next time!
